nightmares, more than just bad dreams?

Many believe that our dreams are more than just the result of chemical reactions in our brain as it "reboots" just before we wake up. "Dreaming" takes place during what is referred to as R.E.M. sleep; or Rapid Eye Movement sleep. But are our dreams merely a recollection of our subconscious? Could there possibly be a supernatural aspect to them? Native American cultures would interpret dreams according to their subject matter and determine them as having different meanings. How are we to interpret nightmares? Might they be frightening images resurfacing in our mind's eye as it sifts through subconscious thoughts? Or is there more to it than that? Can we entertain the idea that, possibly, these terrifying nightly imaginations, that put us in horrifying situations, may, in fact, be the work of our very own "Freddy?" Our minds are our truest enemy. As Hamlet states "O God, I could be bounded in a nut shell and count myself a king of infinite space, were it not that I have bad dreams." For maybe, it is our dreams that we should be listening to. Feelings of déjà vu that sometimes occur in the daylight hours often spawn from nighttime imagining. What if our demise were specifically set out in our dreams, and we wake up in a cold sweat, breathing heavily, discerning between reality and fantasy, would we withhold also the power to prevent such terrible happenings? What happens when dreams, are more than just dreams? What happens when nightmares, are realities?

  1. ya dude often i recollect my dreams and try to point out stuff that is just out there but never can seemto remember them in their intirity. but in the deja vu state ment ever think that we already are destended through time to have things happen so therefore our mind will sometimes prepare us. Imagine focusing that energy to lets say predicting the future.. big world our there man

  2. wow i can really relate to this. I have deja vu at least once a day. Sometimes like 5 times a day. I say this all the time to my friends and we talk to each other about the weird dreams we have. Not all of them are nightmares but many of them are very scary when you try to interpret the meaning behind them. Have you ever noticed that whenever you have any kind of dream, you wake up feeling you got less sleep than on nights that are dreamless? Love your blog by the way:)
